Our Story
Our founder, Pastor Clarence St. John started this church originally called First Assembly of God back in 1968. In the 1970-80’s the church grew to 700 plus people and held the reputation as the church with the most cigarette butts. Pastor St. John was very integrated into the community and the region. Pastor St. John planted a new Assemblies of God church in Chisholm, MN. After serving as as the founding Pastor, Clarence became the District Superintendent of the MN District of the Assemblies of God.
Pastor Dave Oler carried the church’s passion to parent and plant new churches in the Northeast section of Minnesota. He helped start Good Hope Church in Cloquet, Goodland Community Church, and Pengillly Abundant Life.
God is calling us to continue to plant more churches across the region because it allows us to reach more people more effectively. Our church has always been a church that multiplies and sends leaders and church planters.
